Fall is usually fragrance's busiest season, and September 2026 kept up the pace. Houses ranging from niche extrait specialists to the big designer names all put something new on shelves, timed for the shift into cooler weather. Here is a plain rundown of what actually launched or was announced last month, as of October 5, 2026, with the real notes and prices behind each one. Prices across the nine launches below span a wide range, from $65 up to £360, with most of the designer entries landing somewhere between £75 and £85.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian released Oud Velvet Mood as an extrait de parfum on September 4, 2026, composed by Francis Kurkdjian himself. It's built around raw oud wood, with a suede accord meant to sit close to the skin, and a core of leathery osmanthus and peach. It comes in two sizes: 35ml at £225 and 70ml at £360. The house, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, is already in our catalog for other fragrances like Baccarat Rouge 540, though Oud Velvet Mood itself is too new to have a catalog entry yet.
Penhaligon's marked the tenth anniversary of its Portraits Collection with The Manoeuvres of the Baroness. Perfumer Daphné Bugey built it around orange blossom and sandalwood, and it's priced at £245. Penhaligon's isn't a house we carry yet, but both of those notes have their own pages if you want to know what they actually smell like.
On the designer side, Acqua di Parma released Cedro Virtuoso, a woody gourmand eau de parfum built on hazelnut, bergamot, and Virginia cedarwood, at £180 for 50ml. Paco Rabanne put out 1 Million Black, pairing vanilla and pineapple up top with patchouli and an ebony wood accord underneath, at £82.99. Hugo Boss added BOSS Bottled Beyond Intense to its lineup, built around orange blossom absolute and a textured leather note, at £76.
Valentino launched Born In Roma Uomo Rendez Vous Ruby, a composition of raspberry, lavender, and wood. Elie Saab released L'Homme Intense, layering neroli, cardamom, and lemon oil over violet leaf, leather, cedar, and patchouli. Ralph Lauren brought out Ralph's Club New York, built on blackcurrant, vanilla, and sandalwood, at $65. Lacoste rounded out the month with Original Aqua, a woody aquatic scent mixing clary sage, lavender, caviar, vetiver, and amber woods, at £79. Elie Saab, Ralph Lauren, and Lacoste aren't houses we carry yet either, so there's nothing to link to on those three.
Looking across these nine launches, a couple of threads show up more than once. Leather and woody-leather accords turn up in at least four of them, from Hugo Boss and Elie Saab to the suede in Oud Velvet Mood and the amber woods in Lacoste's Original Aqua. Fruity top notes open more than half, from Valentino's raspberry to Ralph Lauren's blackcurrant to Paco Rabanne's pineapple. Nine fragrances from one month isn't enough to call a trend, but it's a fair snapshot of what perfumers reached for this fall.
None of these nine fragrances are in the ParfAI catalog yet, but the notes behind them are everywhere in it. Browse Woody fragrances if the leather and cedar combinations caught your eye, or Floral picks if orange blossom is more your speed. You can also look up any single note on its own page, like oud or sandalwood, to see which fragrances already in our catalog share it, and whether they're worth trying while you wait for these new releases to show up in stores.
This roundup is based on the sources listed below, covering coverage published as of October 5, 2026. None of these fragrances have reached ParfAI's catalog yet, since they're too new to have ratings or reviews worth tracking, and we haven't tried any of them ourselves. Where a source didn't clearly state a detail, like a perfumer's name or an exact price, we left it out rather than guess.
